The Hotel Bitacora is part of "Spring Hoteles" and it's located in Playa de las Americas in the south of Tenerife (the "warm and sunny side" of Tenerife). It offers two swimming pools immersed in a tropical garden with beautiful flora. One of the pools has a shallower section just for the fun of your children, a water-chute (for children and adults) and a waterfall. In winter (if there is a season called "winter" here in Tenerife!) the water of the pool is heated.
This beautiful setting incorporates "Nenelandia", an exciting playground for children from 3 to 12 years old - a delightful treat for the youngest guests.
Refreshment is taken care of by the three bars some located by pools and a main restaurant, which offers a buffet service. By the way, many guests say that food is excellent and a great reason to come and stay at the Hotel Bitacora!
Entertainment comes in two forms: 1. Daily activities like archery, water volley and polo, sjoelen, darts, table tennis, rifle and pistol shooting, which are extremely well organized and will ensure that you will soon get to know other guests; and 2. Sports like tennis and mini-golf. For the lovers of the real golf instead, you don't have to worry: the Hotel Bitacora is located just 1 km (a bit more than half a mile) from the 18 holes "Golf Club Las Americas".
The evenings at the Hotel Bitacora offer cabaret and dancing - inside the disco during the winter and in the open-air terrace during the summer.
The accommodations of the hotel are very large and spacious, simple and with balconies enhanced by flowers. All of them have air-conditioning.
Guests that stay at the Hotel Bitacora in Tenerife come mostly from Europe and broadly speaking, generally there are a very high percentage of guests coming from the UK (>80%) and the rest from Spain or elsewhere.
Finally two notes of "cautions" though about the Hotel Bitacora:
1. In the high-season periods like summer, the hotel is fully packed and even if there are plenty of sun beds near the pools there will be many more guests ready to "fight" for them. So, if you are planning to come in such periods just be prepared to sometimes be an early-birdie to "reserve" your seat under the sun before other will do. But what else can you expect from a place where sun, water and fun blend so well together?
2. Just one final point if you are interested about the view from the balcony. Approximately only half of the rooms face the pool of the hotel giving a nice panoramic. However the other half, either faces a high and ugly high-rise block or a bar. So, if during your permanence in Tenerife you desire also to have a nice view keep also this in mind when you will check-in at the Hotel Bitacora in Tenerife.
